I think the spring awakening poster has great contrast. The red helps the viewer focus on the most important part of the poster, the title. And secondary to that is an image that informs the viewer what the show is about.
The coyote ugly poster has poor contrast between the girls and the title. The girls are glowing bright yellow and the title is set in yellow so it makes it tough for the viewer to take their focus off of the glowing girls and focus on the title.
